Let me introduce myself...

Welcome! My name is Isabella and I am a clinical psychologist and board approved supervisor.

Finding the right psychologist can be a daunting process- especially if you have experienced trauma in the past. I want to acknowledge how much courage it takes to even begin the search. I am so glad that you have found your way here.

I would describe myself as a passionate and dedicated clinical psychologist who brings warmth, authenticity, and genuine care into the therapy space. I work from a trauma-informed and attachment-based perspective. This means I deeply understand how our past experiences shape our current relationships, emotions, health, and sense of self.

Research consistently shows that the quality of the relationship between therapist and client is the most important factor in positive therapy outcomes. This makes perfect sense to me as I truly believe that healing happens in the context of connection.

I understand both the power and limitations of modern- day psychology. True mental wellness goes beyond just addressing symptoms. It involves honouring the whole person- the mind, the body (particularly our nervous system), the soul (who we are at our core), and understanding the complex ways they interact. Healing is limited when we focus solely on the mind. My approach embraces this complexity, supporting clients in not only finding relief from distress but in moving toward a meaningful and connected life.

Whether you're navigating trauma, anxiety, relationship issues, or simply trying to understand yourself better, I would be honoured to walk beside you on your journey.

Everyone is welcome here. I offer a neurodivergent- friendly and a LGBTQIA+ affirming space where you can show up just as you are.

Training, Qualifications, & Experience

Isabella holds a Bachelor of Psychological Science (University of New South Wales), a Graduate Diploma of Psychology Advanced (Monash University), and a Master of Clinical Psychology (Australian College of Applied Psychology).

Isabella has worked in private practice since 2021 supporting clients with a wide range of presentations. She also currently works as part of a specialist trauma team in a Sydney-based public hospital. In this role she supports individuals navigating the complexities of trauma and facilitates a Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) program.

Throughout her career, Isabella has gained experience across diverse clinical environments, including private practice, private psychiatric hospitals, and non for profit mental health organisations. She has particularly enjoyed developing and facilitating group therapy programs. In addition to clinical work, Isabella has held academic roles in psychology education, teaching and supporting students across undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

Isabella is trained in a range of therapeutic modalities. The therapies she most draws from in her sessions include:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Schema Therapy

  • Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).

  • Relational-Integrative EMDR

  • Structural Dissociation

Whilst these modalities shape Isabella's work, she doesn't take a one size fits all approach. She focuses on creating flexible, collaborative, and individualised treatment plans that align with client's goals, values, strengths, and lived experience.

Isabella also recognise the power of spirituality in the therapy space. More specifically, she is interested in how spiritual principles and altered forms of consciousness can heal us in ways simply talking cannot.

What does Mind Body Soul Clinical Psychology involve?

Although everyone's therapeutic journey is unique, healing often involves three key components:

1) developing a sense of safety within our bodies and the present moment

2) working through and making sense of the past

3) envisioning and creating a future that feels meaningful and worth living.

Isabella utilises specialist techniques from a variety of evidence-based therapies to target these goals.

Create safety in the here and now

Feelings of anxiety, low mood, difficulties in relationships, or a sense of disconnection from life can often be signs that we're mentally stuck in the past or bracing for a future filled with threats. Learning to anchor ourselves in the present moment can gently shift how we think, feel, and relate to the world around us.

Process the past

Research shows that trauma memories are stored and recalled differently from everyday memories. Isabella uses evidence-based trauma processing techniques to help reduce the impact of trauma memories on daily life. It's important to understand that trauma exists on a spectrum- from 'big T' events like exposure to life threatening situations to 'little T' experiences such as emotional neglect, relationship loss, or financial stress. Repeated exposure to these smaller traumas can have a greater emotional impact than a single 'big T' event.

Creation of a life that feels worth living

Mental wellness isn't just the absence of distress- it involves actively building a life that reflects your values and brings a sense of purpose. Many of us spend our lives in survival mode, simply trying to make it through the day or week. Isabella supports clients to move beyond this survival state by offering tools to reconnect with inner wisdom and craft a life that is filled with love and joy.

Supervision

Isabella is an AHPRA endorsed supervisor. She is also an accredited Psychology Board approved supervisor for those undertaking the Clinical Registrar program.

Isabella understands that supervision can be a vulnerable and sometimes daunting process. She places a strong emphasis on building a safe and supportive supervisory relationship. Her approach is reflective and process-oriented, grounded in the belief that meaningful growth emerges through honest exploration and connection. Isabella recognises the influential role supervisors play in shaping the development of early career psychologists. She credits much of her own growth to the guidance she received in her early career, and is passionate about giving back to the profession. Her supervision style is integrative, drawing from a wide range of psychological theories and modalities to support the unique needs of each supervisee.

Isabella offers both individual and group supervision for clinicians at various stages of their career. Reach out for a free 10 minute discovery call. Supervision sessions are $240 + GST.
